Why should you become a Referee?  

Becoming a referee can be a rewarding experience; especially for young adults as they will grow in confidence, learn to command respect, and practice making decisive decisions.

More importantly, it's rewarding and working with kids is great fun!

Stow Youth Soccer and Nashoba United Soccer value and support our referees.

An advisor or older ref is available for advice for all refs at U8 and U10 games.                            

 

 

Requirements:

  • Candidates between 12 and 14 years of age are able to participate in the Genesis Referee Program (offered by Stow Soccer and LYSA) previously known as Ref in Training.
  • Candidates who are 14 years of age or older are expected to complete a Grade 8 course offered by the Massachusetts State Referee Committee to receive their certificate.  Courses are found at Mass Ref Course Offerings 

 

  • Candidates should participate in pre and post season meetings.
